Venice, Italy. Arte e contemplazione, organized by the Centro internazionale delle Arti e del Costume, at the Palazzo Grassi. Jean Leymarie cited Borduas as an initiator of new artistic movement in his country, who died discreetly in Paris last year after a stay in the U.S.A. (Leymarie, Art et Contemplation au Palais Grassi a Venise, Quadrum, XI, 1961). A catalogue was published without numbers for the entries. Borduas presented:
